Listed with The National Register of Historic Places, this lifesaving station and boathouse was built in 1894 as part of the US Coast Guard. It was decommissioned in 1949 and later used a visitors' center for Gateway National Park located in Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The structure still stands but was deemed unsafe after hit by Super-storm Sandy in 2012.
