Listed with The National Register of Historic Places, this lifesaving station and boathouse was built in 1894 as part of the US Coast Guard. It was decommissioned in 1949 and later used a visitors' center for Gateway National Park located in Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The structure still stands but was deemed unsafe after hit by Super-storm Sandy in 2012.
Part of the Bayshore Series, Sandy Hook Station is a digitally choreographed phonetography image. This print has been captured with full color and clarity on 19ml, watercolor cold press, cotton rag paper. The matte texture of this paper produces a beautifully soft, gallery finish.
